Helping users manage own expectations before seeking help

About

DocReady has a tool providing guidance for users to help them manage their own expectations before visiting the GP for their mental health.

Key guidance

DocReady clearly explains what to expect from the consultation, ranging from how long the consultation might take to why the GP might ask lots of questions or what they might do after the consultation.

Expectations are also managed by providing further information about what the GP is able to do to help, what are your rights as a patient and information regarding confidentiality.

Risks

  • There might be questions raised about where the information comes from if a user has a different experience from their visit at the GP so, if you can, share the source of the research and information.
